Moneta Marmi was born in 1990 as tradition of the town; it was founded by Andrea Grassi, who was born and has always lived in Carrara, and it still runs the same business which it was set up for: processing and supplying white marble. Lately it extended itself to other stone’s sectors, such as granite. The firm has always been characterized by professionality, but what makes it really better now then the past is the experience: after very many and important works Moneta Marmi had grown up until it reached an high level quality. Directed mainly to the final consumer, it has always been ready to satisfy every request. Moneta Marmi, which likes to call itself “the suburb’s marble cutter”, helps its customers to realize their own marble dreams, to create and design every single project suitable for the consumer.
Carrara, a little town placed in Tuscany, is well-known since Roman’s times for the quality of its white marble. At the time it was Luni which was considered the actual source of marble, and indeed in very many latin textes the presence of this town is attested, praised just for its white marble. Lately its reputation had increased until it was eulogized in the famous Dante’s Inferno lines, which we had to quote. Michelangelo’s David, the “Pietà”, all these sculptures was forged, taken out (as Michelangelo himself loved to say) by the white Carrara marble. Moneta Marmi tries to pursue this great tradition in order to give everyone the possiblity to posses not a simple marble work, but a piece of history, which is able to arouse feelings even at the only sight.
